Business Connect - March 2024, Public Sector issue

Public Sector: March 2024

Welcome to the 8th Edition of Brightspeed Business Connect.

In a world increasingly shaped by digital connections, Broadband Expansion and Access Development (BEAD) funding has emerged as a beacon of progress, offering communities equitable access to high-speed internet. It is imperative to recognize that connectivity access is not a privilege or simply a strategic advantage; it should be a fundamental right.

Here’s how BEAD makes a positive impact in our rural areas:

• Expands broadband infrastructure.
• Improves internet access in schools
• Establishes access to telehealth services
• Supports economic development
• Streamlines government services
• Empowers the community

At Brightspeed, we know firsthand the crucial role BEAD funding plays in bridging the digital divide. Through public-private partnerships there is a sustainable model for what could be done with BEAD long term. Our goal is to continue participating in the same type of public-private partnerships we are implementing today. Join us in celebrating the strides we are making to build a more connected America.

Internet for All

Broadband Expansion and Access Development (BEAD) stands at the forefront of closing the digital gap in America. This funding program serves as a catalyst, propelling initiatives that will empower rural communities with the connectivity they need and deserve.

Recently, Brightspeed Vice President of Regulatory, Compliance and Broadband Office, Pamela Sherwood, took part in a panel discussion entitled “And the Bead Goes on…” at USTELECOM. Speakers included federal and state partners and broadband providers. The year 2024 is being considered the year of execution for BEAD, with Brightspeed as one of the providers leading the charge toward a more connected and inclusive nation.
