Find your Brightspeed account number

There are several places you can find your account number — on your bill, on My Brightspeed, and in the welcome letter or order confirmation we sent you when you ordered service.

Get it delivered to your email

You can have your Brightspeed account number emailed to you. For your security, we can only send it to the email address on your account. If you don't have access to that mailbox, you can find your account number in other places, described below.

Find it on your bill

You can find your account number on the top of each page of your monthly bill — either the paper bill that is delivered to you or your online bill in My Brightspeed.

Check your order documents

In addition to your bill, there are two other paper documents where you can find your account number.

  1. Welcome letter. If you haven't gotten your first bill yet. you can find your account number in the Welcome Letter we sent when you signed up for service. Look for "Account Number" or "Reference Number" in this letter.

  2. Order confirmation. Anytime you start or make changes to your service, you will also receive an order confirmation. This will include information about what you ordered and show your account number. If you don't remember getting anything from us in the mail, check your email inbox, as we usually email the confirmation document to you as well.

What is a billing telephone number (BTN) or a billing account number (BAN)?

You may notice that, in some communications, we refer to a "billing telephone number (BTN)." If you only have Brightspeed internet service, this may seem confusing, as the BTN is not a typical phone number that you can call. It is simply the number that is associated with your internet line. If you have home phone service, the BTN will be the same as your working phone number.

In essence, BTN and the term "billing account number" (BAN) are all interchangeable and serve as the account number linked to your Brightspeed service.

When do I need to have my account number?

You may need to use your account number to:

  • Use the online service troubleshooter to test your internet service
  • Request changes to your service by phone
  • Give to the agent if you call in with any service or repair requests
  • Make a payment online or through the automated phone system

If you still can't find your account number, or have other questions, contact us. We're here to help!
